  • Port of Portland, Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia

Located on the rugged south west coast of Victoria, the port of Portland has the distinction of being a stone's throw from Australia's 12 Apostles, the Great Ocean Road, and the Grampians National Park.

The Great Ocean Road
Cruise ships berthing in Portland arrive at the 1.2-kilometre long Lee Breakwater in the sheltered port, and within minutes you can be exploring the regional city's historic centre. In just a few hours you could be flying high in a helicopter over the 12 Apostles, the Great Ocean Road's iconic rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean.

Historic Portland
Portland boasts Victoria's oldest permanent European settlement and hundreds of heritage buildings still line the streets. Picturesque Portland Bay bustles with activity, with ships docking, fish being hooked, and surfers catching excellent waves. In winter it's possible to spot whales from the foreshore cable tram.

Exploring the Grampians
Also within day-trip distance of Portland are the rugged mountain ranges and impressive waterfalls of the Grampians National Park, featuring Aboriginal rock art and many opportunities to encounter quirky Australian wildlife.
