Live the excitement, get close to nature and discover the special bond between human and husky with an unforgettable sled dog experience in Victoria’s spectacular Alpine National Park. Power through the snow and learn about the history of the sport on a dogsled tour. Rally your team and pit yourself against other mushers (drivers) in a race, or settle back and watch all the action unfold from the sidelines.

Friendly huskies
Choose from a wide variety of dogsled tours available at Dinner Plain, Hotham, Mount Baw Baw and Mount Buller. Load up the kids or bring along that special someone and snuggle up in the sled as you set out into the wild. Take in the spectacular alpine scenery with your musher guiding the way, and learn all about the early days of dog sledding as you go. Finish off your tour with photo ops, and pats and cuddles with the friendly huskies.

Be sure to bring along warm clothing, hats, gloves, boots, skiwear and your camera.

Big days, big nights
Plan your visit to the snow to coincide with one of the popular local race events. Catch the Falls Creek Sled Dog Classic in early August and watch as the teams of huskies race through the village under lights. Later that month sees the Sled Dog Challenge, Australia's oldest sled dog race, take over the slopes of Dinner Plain with more than 70 mushers and over 350 sled dogs competing across five race classes.
