Explore the beautiful protected southern waters of Port Phillip Bay. The waters are clear and azure and full of marine life.

Participants start just before Sorrento township and firstly gear up, adjust rudders and listen to a safety talk before jumping on the water.

You then kayak past historic seaside towns of Sorrento and Portsea with rich maritime and early settlement history. Participants can observing historical mansions along the cliff tops with their outdoor swimming enclosures below.

Point Nepean National Park and the dolphin sanctuary are next. Bottlenose & Common dolphins frequent this area so it's an amazing feeling when dophins appear beside your sea kayak! I may also see sea eagles, pelicans, pacific gulls and cormorants.

Lunch stop is on the beach at Point Nepean Park beside the fascinating former quarantine station. Lunch is gourmet rolls, hot and cold drinks, fruit and biscuits. There is time to have a look around the former quarantine station while taking in amazing views of the "Heads" and Queenscliff.

Then return to start with a break along the way near Pt King to take in a view.

Sea Kayak Australia was established in 1994 and is based in Melbourne. Sea Kayak Australia undertakes kayak tours, kayak courses and kayak hire around Victoria.

Sea kayaking is unique, adventurous and environmentally interactive as you get to see dolphins, seals and eagles at close quarters in a tranquil setting. It is a great way to see the countryside and experience something new.

Kayak hire is located 300 metres from the Yarra River in Abbotsford and located close to public transport via bus or train. Kayak hire is available all year round. A kayak trolley is provided to transport your kayak down to the river. You can paddle into the city from the hire location or take a leisurely paddle for a few hours.

All kayak tours include kayaking gear, sea kayak guide, historical commentary, drinks and gourmet lunch. Sea kayak tours are a great idea for birthday parties, corporate events and schools excursions.

Half day tours are located in the City, at St Kilda beach and Williamstown. Full day sea kayak tours are six hours duration (four hours paddling time) and are located at Sorrento and Phillip Island.
