  • Horsham Regional Gallery, The Grampians, Victoria, Australia

Hit the road and experience the vivid contrast of the majestic Grampians and the arid landscapes of Little Desert. Discover Mount Arapiles and Horsham, a lively city centrally located in the Wimmera and the perfect base to explore the region.

Wildlife and waterfalls
Set aside some time to enjoy the excellent shopping, dining and entertainment offerings in Horsham before hitting the road. If you're staying at Halls Gap, proceed to Stawell and follow the Western Highway to Dadswell Bridge. Duck off on a fascinating side trip to check out Wartook Valley, Mackenzie Falls and several local lookouts. The region's national parks are home to more than 200 species of birds and several species of kangaroo and wallaby. Tread softly in the Little Desert and you might even catch a glimpse of the remarkable Mallee Fowl.

View from the top
Enjoy natural heritage attractions and majestic mountain ranges on a Great Grampians and Little Desert tour, taking in picturesque Wartook Valley and Mount Arapiles. World famous as a rock climbing destination, Mount Arapiles is also accessible by bike or car.  Make your way to the top and revel in the breathtaking views of the surrounding Wimmera Plain.

Wartook Valley offers mountain views and native wildlife, secluded creeks and spectacular waterfalls. Olive groves, famous for their gourmet produce, dot the northern face of the Grampians, opening up to the plains and distant views of Mount Arapiles.
